Otter Surveys
Otters are afforded full protection under UK and European law and is also a UK BAP priority species. Where works are proposed to the banks of watercourses known to be used by otters an EPS licence may be required before works can proceed.
CSa can undertake otter surveys, provide mitigation guidance and prepare EPS licence applications where required. Mitigation will be site specific but should ensure no net loss of important habitat or disruption of dispersal routes. This is particularly relevant to road or railway developments which may cross watercourses.
