Design and Access Statements & Design Coding

Design and Access Statements are now a prerequisite for most types of planning applications. Well considered, appropriately illustrated Design and Access Statements can be highly persuasive documents, explaining the rationale behind schemes. At CSa we have a reputation for preparing carefully crafted Design and Access Statements which clearly explain the process and decision making which lie behind schemes.

We can either prepare DAS to support schemes where we are the lead Urban Design Consultant or input into DAS prepared by others.

Design Coding

Design Coding is an effective tool in enabling a consistent approach to design quality to be maintained on large sites, particularly where there are multiple developers. At the outline planning stage, carefully considered Coding documents will enable many of the issues associated with future reserved matters planning applications to be resolved at an early stage.

We have considerable experience of preparing well considered, achievable Coding documents which are tailored to the particular requirements of the end user or developer. Recent projects include the coding of a new neighbourhood for 2,500 homes and restoration of 5 km of canal.
