Date : 2005 - to date

Clients: Persimmon Homes, HCA & Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd

CSa were commissioned jointly by Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey to masterplan the last remaining neighbourhood at Crawley, Sussex. The masterplan called for an innovative and flexible approach to accommodate the various constraints on the site including the floodplain of the Gatwick Stream; the potential effects of a second runway at Gatwick Airport; road and rail noise from the M23 and the London to Brighton railway; areas of ancient woodland; and a number of ponds and watercourses. Design Codes and Objectives were drawn up and a series of public exhibitions held. Clive Self also presented landscape and urban design evidence at two seperate Public Inquiries.
