CSa Input: Evidence at the Inquiry into effects of aircraft in flight, ES chapter on landscape effects and landscape design for new terminal
Date: 2004 - 2009
Client: West Midlands International Airport
CSa have been advising WMIAL on landscape and visual matters relating to the operation and expansion of Coventry Airport for passenger flights. In 2005 CSa gave evidence, in support of WMIAL, against an enforcement action concerning the use of the airport for passenger flights. One of the key areas addressed by the evidence was the effects of aircraft in flight on the amenity of the neighbouring countryside, nearby conservation area and registered parks. Research undertaken by CSa revealed that it was the first time that the visual effects of aircraft in flight had been considered in any detail at Public Inquiry. Planning permission was granted by the SoS for 1.1 million ppa.
