CSa Input: Ecological Appraisal, Herpetofauna Mitigation Strategy and Habitat Enhancement Strategy to support planning application

CSa identified potential ecological impacts from the installation of a new 2.5km leachate line across lowland farmland habitat, some sections of which were considered to provide opportunities for reptiles and amphibians during their terrestrial stage. A Herpetofauna Mitigation Strategy was produced detailing steps to temporarily displace any amphibians or reptiles from the working area. The Habitat Enhancement Strategy focused on areas within the landfill site where habitats are being reinstated, and included guidance on the management of grassland and scrub areas, new hedgerow planting and reinstatement of woodland management.
