Working closely with TP Bennett Architects, CSa provided landscape and ecological advice for the redevelopment of an underutilised employment site on the edge of Mitcham Common. The brief was to prepare a high quality design which paid particular attention to the sites sensitive location on the edge of Mitcham Common. The landscape design focused on a series of internal courtyards, a memorial garden for members of the Home Guard, who were killed during an air raid, and a series of water features.
Detailed planning permission was granted, on appeal, for the scheme. CSa provided expert evidence at the Inquiry on the effects of the proposed development on the setting of Mitcham Common and have subsequently undertaken the detail design work of the public realm.
