Having previously provided expert landscape and visual evidence for West Midlands International Airport, Clive Self was well placed to advise on the landscape effects of aircarft in flight and the impact of the new terminal building on the character of the area and the Dungeness Special Landscape Area.

The issue of the effects of the airport expansion on the tranquillity of the surrounding area and the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty was also assessed and addresssed in evidence at the Inquiry.

The Secrtetary of State's decision is expected in the new year.
