Care home and gospel hall granted consent

Project: Care Home and Gospel Hall

CSa Input: Landscape Architects, Ecologists, Urban Designers and Expert Witness

Date: 2010

Client: Benhill Gospel Trust

CSa were appointed by the BGT to undertake a landscape and ecological assessment of the former British Industrial Biological Research complex on the southern edge of Carshalton and to prepare a masterplan to show how a gospel hall and nursing home could be delivered on this sensitive Green Belt site.

Following detailed discussions with the London Borough of Sutton, a masterplan was produced which retained a significant part of the site as open parkland, provided a single storey Gospel Hall with 111 associated car parking spaces, a modified access, and a two storey, 80 bedroom care home. Outline planning permission was granted in October 2010.
