A second phase of development achieves consent with landscape and ecology input from CSA.
2013 - present
Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd
Following a successful planning application by Taylor Wimpey for a first phase of development at Greenhill Way, Haywards Heath, CSA have been implementing reptile and amphibian mitigation at the site in 2015-16. CSA secured a European Protected Species (EPS) licence for great crested newts (GCN), which allowed development and off-site drainage works to progress on schedule. It seems that licencing is rarely straightforward, but CSA are well-versed in foreseeing potential problems, resolving conflicts and modifying licences where the need arises.
CSA have also provided on-going landscape and ecology services to support a second phase of development, which gained full planning consent in October 2016. The integrated approach to landscape design and ecology is an important aspect of this success. Further mitigation and licensing work will occur in spring 2017.
