We recognise that ecological assessments can be required for a wide range of reasons, such as to inform site purchase proposals, for land promotion or to accompany a planning application. We’ll make sure we understand your commercial needs at the outset and we will use our experience to determine the best approach.
The two most common approaches are:
- Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA)
- Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA)
These are the two process advocated by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). For a more detailed description and to find out when these approaches should be used see our guide to Ecological Appraisal and Assessment (2020).
